The research activities of NEXT ENERGY and EWE AG are integrated into the existing Oldenburg energy research landscape, which today is primarily oriented toward the needs of a modern, efficient and environmentally friendly energy supply.

Research in energy technologies in Oldenburg has its foundation in the natural sciences, engineering, information technology, meteorology and economics. These fields are covered by the University of Oldenburg as well as the independent institutes ForWind, NEXT ENERGY and OFFIS. With the founding of ENERiO – Energy Research in Oldenburg (www.enerio.de), the research activities for a new generation of energy supply systems at the Oldenburg site will be communicated in a comprehensive manner.
